Welcome on pages  of Radioklub Poruba  - club station  in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

We apology for some inconvenience. Most of pages are in Czech language. English part of this web is an only basic information.
News about actual activities are in Czech part of this web and please use for example Google translator for understanding these texts.

We are very old radioclub.
Very first beginnings start since 27.4.1935, when was founded subdivision of ČAV - Českoslovenští amatéři vysílači (Czechoslovakian transmiting amateurs)
in the city of Ostrava
. Until WW2 starts many hams in Ostrava and region and reached big success that declares many QSL cards from that time, same as articles in magazines in 30's. Maybe it is necessary to say, that first legal ham radio licences in Czechoslovakia were issued in 1930.

We had got first license in 1947: OK2OAV, later OK2OOS (1948) and since 1951 we are OK2KOS.
Since 2006 we have also contest callsign OK5K. It is used mostly in VHF/UHF contests.

Hundreds of hams were members of this club and club is still well known in our region.

Now we are located in modest rooms in the top of apartement house in the city. It brings advantage of quite high antennas - top of tower is 60m above ground. On the other hand there is too much of city noise and hum.

Club days are Tuesdays in afternoon hours - there is the best chance to work us on bands.

QSL card are available via QSL service of Czech radioclub or direct.
