CLUB TODAY

Let's say that today is after 2000 year. There was several importatnt thinks that changed situation in the club.

Thanks to initiative of Radek OK2UQQ a contract with
city hall about leasing club rooms in VHF QTH was made. It gaves rather big chance to keep radioclub in this place for longer period of time. We have fit out an interier with necessary furniture and (it is more important) we have inovated radio equipment..

We changed old trophy radio Köln E52b and panel home made transmitter for transceiver IC–745 and shortly again by more modern universal transceiver YAESU FT–847, which is better for our needs on HF and VHF bands.

Antennas have been changed as well. New mast on the roof in a free space more than 50m high carries
3-element tribander by ECO and above beams F9FT for 2 m and 70 cm bands. All is turned by YAESU G-1000DXC rotor.

New member Ivan Sagl OK2BMU came, operator who knows CW (not usual today) and technician of packet radio node OK0NOS. And it is not everything. Thanks to agreement with radioclub at VSB-Technical University OK2KQM we put in service FM repeater OK0AD in our club.
Next new member is Martin Toman OK2EE (ex OK2XWH), who is very active specially in this year from diverse castles and chateau like OK2KOS/p and helps other newcomers to reach their first individual license.

New contest callsign OK5K was started  in year 2006. We use this callsign in international contests.
Plans for the future ?

We would like upgrade our antenna systems. For instance better antenna for 144 MHz, some loops for low bands etc. We do not expect to use higher output power because we are in the appartment house and there could be some interference problems. Our maximum is about 200 W on VHF/UHF.
There is always chance to improve receiving side of equipment and antennas.
