Transceiver Yaesu FT847.

ft847

This is an universal transceiver for use i our club. We don't have enough place to have more workplaces for example separated HF and VHF/UHF

This transceiver is all in one.
We bought power amplifier 200W for 144 MHz band by italian manufacturer Microset. For 70cm we use PA about 100W borowed from OK2BMU.
On HF bands we use only base output power 100W.

It is not real to use bigger power in this QTH although we are in an apartement house. We can't imagine to interfer retired women's favorite soap operas..

Transceiver is nothing without well designed aerials. Nowadays we try some aerials for lower bands. For higher bands we use 3element tribander ELO for 14, 21 and 28 MHz located together with VHF/UHF antennas on mast and conjunct rotor. We use 1 element loop aerial for 7 MHz.

ELO

A loop for 40m hanging on the small mast for OK0AD repeater :

You can see VHF antennas on the first picture. We have 9 elements Yagi (by F9FT) for 144 MHz and 21 elements Yagi Tonna (by F9FT as well). Koaxial cables are Aircom and Ecoflex 10 and are not too long because we are on the top of the house (16 floor level).
For other bands we use FD4 windom just above roof. It means that its functionality is not very good. For repeaters we can use vertical Diamond X50 (145 a 430 MHz).

Antenna Diamond is right on the boom in lower part of mast. Above her on another boom are two antennas of the OK0NOS packet radio node (left userport 433 MHz and right useport 1296 MHz). Other antennas use commecial providers who share place on our mast.

Don't forget ......
