Comments:
It was first contest this year. We need
to do some
repairs on antennas in the club specially on 144 MHz antenna.
We started to go on Friday afternoon.
After setting up of tents, we spent the rest of
time by "social
life". We went to the local pub and spent funny evening with excellent
czech beer. On Saturday morning we started to build antenna mast and
tent for contest. Only band we worked was 432 MHz. After
checking
all equipment and antennas we had a little time to relax before
contest. Everythink was OK.
After start we had quite good rate.After
wind calmed
band was quite well opened to the south (2x I, 1x T9, many S5...).
During night activity on the band was very poor. In the morning were
more station, but conditions to the west were very poor (only 10 DL
stations). The longest QSO to
JN48, JO51 (it is about 600km but are used to doing more and farther).
Operators who took part in contest were
Petr OK2PWA, Jarda OK2HZ, Martin OK2EE (ex OK2XWH) and Ivan OK2BMU.
We worked with YAESU FT847 (as backup
TM455E) and PA about 100W.
2 antennas Tonna 21elements each on very nice mast made by Leo
Sevcik. We didn't have any technical problems this year.
Only problem in connection with
receiving was cross
modulation with TV transmitter in IV.TV band nearby. Situation was
better after turning off the preamplifier. We need to have cavity
filter for next contest (for example DCI filter).
We finished with 160 QSO's
and 34 491 points (2006 it was 156 QSO and 28 327 points). We
had
better result so we were satisfied. Good result for small pistol
station in not very good QTH. You can see photoes in Photogallery.
We had radioham guests on Sunday. First
was
neighbour Ivan OK2BVA from city of Odry. He brought plenty of photoes
from their radioclub OK2KOD and photoes of hams who some of them are
not between us yet. Several minutes later came Jiri OK2RZ.
Shortwave wise man visited UHF guys as he promised in Esko meeting few
days ago. We went together to windmill power generators some 1 km away
our QTH (look at photogallery). It was amazing: 80m high tower wih
screw of diameter 90m. 2MW power is also not small.
